Sample of crack KO-345 (1,8-2 mm)

Sample of crack KO-345 is designed to test the operability of the Flaw detector VID-345 and the Crack depth meter 281M.

The sample is made of structural carbon steel grade No. 20.

Before each use of the device for measuring the depth of cracks on the product, it is necessary to check its operation on a control sample.

The main characteristics of KO-345:

• A crack with a depth range of 1.8 – 2 mm was simulated on the sample.
• KO-345 is included in the basic delivery set of the Flaw detector VID-345.

The procedure for working with the Flaw detector VID-345 in the “Correction” mode

Mode “Correction” is used in case of replacement of the probe, deterioration of probe contact surface or work in unusual climate conditions. Correction is realized separately for crack and thickness.
User should use check samples (included in basic delivery set).

Thickness correction

1. In the thickness correction mode there will be a blinking inscription “SET ZERO POINT”.
2. Place the contact surface of the probe on the flawless surface of check sample. Press Enter.
3. Place the sample of coating on the sample of crack. Place the probe on the sample of coating on the flawless surface of sample of crack.
4. Press Enter. Display will blink shortly and then the thickness readout will appear on it.
5. By means of Up and Down buttons insert the value of thickness written on the check laying.
6. Press Enter. Thickness correction is completed.

Depth correction

1. In the depth correction mode there will be a blinking inscription “SET ZERO POINT”.
2. Place the contact surface of the probe on the flawless surface of sample of crack. Press Enter.
3. Moving the probe along the sample of crack, place the probe so as to detect the deepest crack depth. Press Enter. The depth will be represented on the screen.
4. By means of Up and Down buttons insert the value written on the sample of crack.
5. Press Enter. Correction is completed.

If necessary, factory settings can be recovered in Mode Deleting.
