Portable AC Magnetic Yoke EMA-500

The EMA-500 is a portable AC magnetic yoke for magnetic particle testing of ferromagnetic components and welds. Its narrow handle, low weight and articulated poles support comfortable positioning on components of different shapes.

Operation

For use by qualified magnetic particle testing personnel in accordance with applicable certification requirements and the operating manual.

1. Inspect the yoke and power cable for damage, then adjust the poles to fit the inspection area.
2. Connect the cable to the yoke and to a 230 V, 50 Hz AC supply.
3. Position both poles on the component and hold the START button to generate an alternating magnetic field. Follow the applicable magnetic particle testing procedure.
4. For demagnetisation, hold the START button and slowly withdraw the yoke from the component.
5. After use, disconnect the supply and the cable, then remove any residual magnetic particle suspension.

Observe the specified duty cycle and energisation limits to prevent overheating. Refer to the operating manual for complete instructions.
