Test block KM-281

Test block with 3 cracks KM-281M is designed to test the operability of the Crack depth meter 281M.

The sample is made of structural carbon steel.

Before each use of the device for measuring the depth of cracks on the product, it is necessary to check its operation on a control sample.

The main characteristics of Test block KM-281M:

• 3 cracks of different depths were simulated on the KM-281M sample: 1, 2, and 5 mm.
• KM-281M is included in the basic delivery set of the Crack depth meter 281M electro potential.

Stages of crack depth measuring

1. Setting of the “0” – measuring on fl awless location of the object.
2. Measuring of crack depth – contact electrodes are located on the opposite sides of the crack, measurement result in mm is shown on the screen.

Requirements for control objects

• Surface roughness – below or equal to 40 Rz (10 Ra).
• Stable electric contact with the sensor electrodes.
